The Blog: Voices from the road

Dear friend, I bring you stories from my back road travels; looking for God in the imperfections, the messy, and the real of life. I share my own experiences in hopes that you can catch a glimpse of yourself in them, and know that even when life gets hard, you’re not alone.

Lesson’s Learned from little creatures

A few weeks ago, I was in preparation for our big trip down to Dare County Regional Airport. This was a big deal on a number of fronts, because I was going to ask Elizabeth to marry me, and… we would be traveling first class, with me flying her down.

Owning Truth

There is something, in the back of my mind, like a sliver stuck there, that keeps bugging me, and I’ve had trouble trying to figure out what it is. I’ve had it for years, and I suspect that you’ve had something like this, as well. Just recently, I started to

The Art of Influence

Some of us are lucky enough to see the results of our heart’s work in our lifetime. Most though… are not, or let me say, we might not see in our lifetime, the massive affect and impression our heart left on this world. I would also say that the ‘art

MOVE ON, PEOPLE…

Let’s just call out the ‘pink elephant’ and thump this bad boy down on the table that everyone ‘knows’ but few ‘talk about’. Yes, there are those that like to ‘brag’ about it but it’s time to get real about it. The world boys and girls, isn’t always a safe

There and Back Again….A Pilot’s Tale

Part 1- I had a dream when I was a child of flying. That dream led me in many different directions. One of course, was the children’s book, ‘THE DAY I LEARNED TO FLY’, which was published last year. But flight is like a love affair with a mistress who,

The Art of Tying shoes and Inspiration

I don’t like to get into politics much due to the level of manure that seems to be at ALL levels of the system, and I also don’t like to keep up with current news due to how much of it is bent toward a personal philosophy vs. just ‘give

The Pursuit Of Passion

I might be self focused enough to write a weekly blog, thinking that anyone might read it, I might have a title in a company, be a father, former husband, ‘pilotmotorcyclistcarbustruckboat’ and just about anything I can get my hands on to drive/float/fly type of guy but…I am just like

July 27th

July 27th isn’t what I would call a great day. I have been hesitant to talk about this day and only a few know what it means to me, and what it has left in my life. The truth is, I am a member of a HUGE family of parents

The Art of Saying ‘Goodbye’

Saying Goodbye. I like think of, and treat most of things in life, as if they have personalities. If you’ve read my book, you know I have a tendency, sexist or not, to call inanimate thing around me ‘she’. For instance… history is full of ships that are referred to

Shattered Glass

When life breaks us, we all need to find handholds and I choose to believe that Christ was and is intimately involved with what occurred. I see that Christ is the ‘Hope of Glory’, Colossians 1:27 and it’s that Hope that is offered to all. That Hope is the foundation of what got me to this point in life.

I pray God uses this tiny, little piece of Shattered Glass from my life to help you find the Hope he offers to you.

The Day I Learned To Fly

Eight year old Jeff’s imagination isn’t earth bound. He dreams of flying over his neighborhood, free from the bonds of gravity – becoming part of the elite list of eight year olds who have flown.

When he and his brothers begin building a homemade go kart, he leaps on this opportunity to use his ingenuity, and make his dreams real!
