The journey is best served real, which means sometimes hot, cold, chewy, hard or like a good soup on a cold day. We never know what each day is going to bring to our story.
With the proliferation of reality shows, we are possessed with watching other people’s lives unfold in more enjoyable ways than our own. The pre-canned comments and situations, the poetic license taken with events which give us a tendency to think, or say to ourselves, “They are just like me,”…well that is my point.
We spend our time watching someone else embrace and live a story that is not our own.
Our story is just as humorous, enjoyable, challenging and inspiring, except it doesn’t happen in 30 minute segments where the highlights are highlighted and the low parts dismissed, or resolved in a few minutes. It happens 24 hours a day. Sometimes we miss the point when it isn’t played out before us.
So I welcome you to engage with every step of your story. J.R.R Tolkin stated through one of his great stories:
“You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no telling where you might be swept off to.”
A dear Friend once told me, when I was bemoaning some hard life decisions that would affect everyone I love, that I should look at the countryside from an airplane, at say 40,000 feet,
“There are no straight lines, except for the man-made ones. Life is is a crooked road.”
So I encourage you to embrace fully, with a full brave heart, your own wonderful story.
Jeff

our stories are our lives, personal, meaningful, sometimes only to us. By sharing our stories, we give them life, and can sometimes reach and touch a place in other’s lives, just by sharing them. God bless you.
