It’s so easy at times to get lost in our routines that we lose sight of the fact if they are significant or not.

Sometimes we lose the significance of our routine things because we do them all of the time.

For those of us who live in the middle of NC, we can be at the coast in a little over 2 hours. You might remember what it was like to the first time you step out on the sand and sea, the horizon and water meet miles offshore and have this sense of what it’s like to stand on the edge of the continent watching the poetic intimate dance between water, waves, sky, and land. It’s a special humbling experience. Every minute, of every hour of every day, waves roll onto and offshore without missing a beat.

Our routines are just like those waves. We easily lose track of its significance because it’s so routine. Unless you are involved in some form of more intimate need to understand, like surfing, fishing, diving, the tides, waves, and currents importances fade away.

In our search for significance take some intentional time to analyze your routines in life. My guess is you will find the following:

1 – Some of the routines are not serving you or those around you

2 –Some are hugely impactful to you and yours

Rule to keep in mind, the significance isn’t always bound to the dramatic but also bound to those daily routines in our lives.

My last thought for today is if you are searching for significance through the grid of outside accomplishments, and the collecting of things, you will find a dead-end street and addition that keeps you lost. There is one person, Christ who sees and knows your value. Seeing yourself through His eyes, through His heart will ground you and give you truly what you are looking for.

Peace on your Journey this week.
