Recently I have been motivated, due in no small part to a doctor’s report, to start walking/jogging… which really looks like a old fat guy blobbing down the street. But, it has been good for me and to date, I’m down 30 lbs, which is an encouraging start.
Today I am at the beach, so I took my early morning walk (blob) in the sand. With the pounding rhythm of the waves, the toss of wind going seaward, the sky turning red/orange from another day punching in, I was making good progress toward sweat and movement.
This particular morning I came across two shells. One is a type of Conch and the other is a Saw Tooth Pen Shell. I’ve never seen a Saw Tooth Pen Shell before, and it’s colors of red, green blue, and orange amazed me. It almost looked like a scale of a dragon or some sea monster.
And… it got me to thinking…
Of all of the months in a year, days in a month, hours in a day, minutes in an hour, seconds in a minute, and mili-seconds in a second… what are the chances that I would come across these two shells, just at the right time of year, after the right weather pattern, at the right tide, at this exact position on the beach, on a vast plane of sand that stretches for dozens of miles, on this morning? How long have these shells been in the process of getting here?
I gave up on ‘accidents’ years ago. I don’t believe in accidents, just like Captain Kirk doesn’t believe in ‘no-win scenarios’.
I think there is a plan, and that plan is more important than the facts of how the plan works. Also, just like these shells, when you feel like you’ve been tumbled around by the wind, tides and waves of life and you are washed up on shore, feeling cast aside thinking that it’s hopeless and a waste, maybe it isn’t a accident.
There is a plan and you are in the right place to be something amazing that has never been seen before.
I would say, there is a story there…

Very timely …tumbled around by the winds, waves, tides, etc.
I understand. We are in this together.
It’s reassuring to be reminded that there’s a plan!! Certainly needed to hear that, this week.
