A dear friend recently said to me, “Isn’t it amazing how long it takes for the dark to transition to sunrise and morning, yet it happens so fast…”

I had to think for a second, and then realized this is just like life. All of us know what it is like to realize… you are looking down the barrel of your 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, and more, and have no idea how it happened so quickly. During the process it seems so long but the second we are at that point… it happened so fast!

Most of us spend way to much time looking back instead of looking at where we are now, or looking forward. Someone said to me today, “We are best served by looking forward in life, and not looking back. Your life isn’t in the past but only exists now, and for the future. Looking backwards or carrying the regrets, pains, the weight of wrongs committed, and wrong done to you, only stops us from moving forward. Learn the lessons from the past but MOVE on.”

These are good words and something I think we all need to take to heart. I know I need to! The journey we are on isn’t easy, and it comes with lessons every single day. The question is, will you take the story you are given to live out, or will you continue to look back and wish that it wasn’t what it is? I encourage you to see the gift you are, and give in to the fact that you are loved, worthy, and have a reason for being.

Can that be hard?  Yes.

Is there any other way through this life? Not that I know of…

I wish for us all, that our journey starts afresh and new every single day, like a warm sunrise on the majestic canvas of ocean and waves.

See you on the road!

  1. This is a great reminder Jeff that our story does not stop when we are in our darkest moments but that there’s hope if we choose to move forward and reach beyond our current circumstances. Very good! Thank you for this encouragement!
